Gerasimenko L. Osteoporosis conditions in females with diffuse toxic goiter: special features of prevention, treatment.

Efficiency of diagnosis, treatment and prevention of osteopenia syndrome in female patients with diffuse toxic goiter (DTG) was improved via ascertainment the risk factors and revealing specific features in formation of structural and functional disorders of bone tissue. Object of research: DTG, osteopenia, osteoporosis. Objective of the research supposes to raise efficiency of diagnosis, treatment and prevention of osteopenia syndrome in female patients with diffuse toxic goiter via ascertainment the risk factors and revealing specific features in formation of structural and functional disorders of bone tissue. Methods: clinical, biochemical, immunoassay, instrumental, statistic. Ultrasound assessment with medical ultrasound diagnostic scanner ALOKA-SSD-3500, quantative ultrasound densitometry with US densitometer "Achilles+". Bone Mineral Density (BMD) with dual-emission X-ray absorptiometry (DXA). The work established peculiarities of osteoporosis syndrome development in females with DTG, screening and prevention algorithms were developed, and differential approach to the choice of treatment methods for DTG complicated with osteopenia and osteoporosis was grounded. The results of research were introduced into the medical practice of doctors endocrinologists, general practitioners - family doctors in medical centers of Kyiv, Kramatorsk, Lisichansk, Mariupol, Lugansk, Severodonetsk, Kharkiv and Sumy.
