This dissertation focuses on the analysis of the peculiarities of the concept TRANSPORT verbal representation and its correlation in British English and American English. Despite the fact that concept structure and the thematic groups of the lexical-semantic fields of the concept verbalizers are identical in the reviewed linguistic cultures, there are culture-specific features in the lexical means representing the mentioned mentality unit. Such differences are predominantly caused by extralingual factors such as historical and geographical peculiarities of the country, its ethnic composition, scientific and technological progress etc.
