The thesis is devoted to determination of the regularity of sulfur oxide(IV) absorption process with the help of iron(II,III)compounds solutions and on its base to develop the sulfur oxide (IV) neutralizing technology of industrial gas emissions using iron (II,III) compounds solutions. Theoretically and experimentally investigated the process of absorption of sulfur oxide (IV) by the solutions of compounds of iron(II, III). It was established that initial reagents concentration, temperature, sulfur oxides(IV) and oxygen dissolubility in water, medium pH affect the thermodynamics of the processes, taking place in analyzed system. The main kinetic characteristics of sulfur oxide dissolubility process by iron (II,III) compounds solutions were determined experimentally. It was ascertained that acceleration of sulfur oxide (IV) absorption process occurs in presence of iron (II) hydroxide in solution; We came to the conclusion that the precursor to form sulfur oxide(IV) catalyst of oxidation is iron (II) hydroxide; but catalyst itself is iron hydroxysulfide (II). The different parameters influence on the rate of mass trausmitter process during sulfur oxide (IV) absorption by iron oxides (II, III) was revealed. On the base of fulfilled researches of sulfur oxide(IV) absorption process the parameters of iron (II,III) compounds solutions in the bubbler-absorbers and in the hollow scrubber were ascertained. The technological scheme of the unit of sulfur oxide (IV) neutralization from industrial gas emissions by iron compounds (II, III) solutions was developed.
