Essay

The thesis provides the determination of polypredicative sentence syntactic status, theoretical analysis of the structural-semantic features of the polypredicative sentences in the modern Chinese language. The paper clarifies the definition of the given syntactic constructions in Chinese and compares them to the Chinese compound sentences. The dissertation presents peculiarities, the main features of the polypredicative sentences and their place among other types of compound sentences. The paper provides the classification of the polypredicative sentences, characterizes ten models of the polypredicative sentences in Modern Chinese. The thesis examines the features of usage of syndetic and asyndetic types of connection, analyses some intonation features of the sentences and the role of the inverted order of the clauses and the word order in the clauses, determines the length of the models.
