The nature and factors of competitiveness for industrial enterprises are defined in the thesis. The evaluation and the classification of the concept of the technological potential for the company are given. Its role in enhancing competitiveness is defined. The main methodological approaches to determining the competitiveness of industrial enterprises are identified. The state and the dynamic of competitive environment of machine-building enterprises are analyzed. The competitiveness of machine-building enterprises is studied. The main problems of domestic industrial enterprises are identified. Methodology for evaluating innovative orientation of machine-building enterprises by means of calculating the integral index is introduced. The methodology is tested on five Ukrainian machine-building enterprises. The recommendations and management decisions for improvement the efficiency of industrial enterprises are provided. Strategy to increase the competitiveness of machine-building enterprises is offered. The key point of the strategy is enhanced mechanism integrated management for competitive technological potential of industrial enterprises. To enhance innovations, creating an integrated structure of industrial technology clusters in the system of industrial complexes is proposed.
