Essay

The thesis is devoted to revealing new, not postmodern aesthetic principles of modern Ukrainian drama and to researching of the transformational process of postmodern poetics and its transition to the brand new quality. The current stage of the literary development is offered to call "metamodernism" which is characterized by loosening between modern and postmodern artistic strategies. Based on the analysis of the artistic world of drama works of the boundary of XX-XXI centuries by Pavlo Arie, Anna Bagriana, Yaroslav Vereshchak, Olena Klymenko, Lesia Voloshyn, Kateryna Demchuk, Oksana Tanyuk, Oleksandr Irvanets, Nadiya Symchych, Oleg Mykolaichuk-Nyzovets, Mykhaylo Nayenko, Neda Nezhdana, Svitlana Novitska, Oleksandra Pogrebinska, Oleksiy Rosych, Volodymyr Serdiuk and others the main ideological principles which are common to the metamodernistic writers and destroy the homogeneity of postmodern paradigm were identificated. There are the search of the personal identity, actualization of the scale of human values, social engagement, resuscitation of historical memory, kulturotsentryzm, harmony and integrity. These ideas have significantly transformed postmodern poetics of drama, but the openness of genre forms, absence of the plot, paradoxical genre definition, various experiments with form (unconventional division, increasing dialogue and remarks) and unusual characters left common qualities in metamodern and postmodern drama.
