This thesis investigates profiling of ethnocultural concepts in the English riddle. The research offers the definition of profiling on the basis of cognitive and ethnolinguistic approach. Logical and semantic and conceptual specifics of reality categorization in the English riddles have been elucidated. Means and ways of profiling of ethnocultural concepts at the preconceptual, conceptual and verbal levels have been determined.
