Essay

An analysis of main forest mensurational indices of forest stands and dynamics of areas and growing stock of stands of main forest-forming tree species of National Nature Park «Prypiat-Stokhid» are presented in the thesis. The aggregated database «Forest fund of Ukraine» as of 01.01.2013 served as the source of input data for conducting quantitative assessment of structure and total amount of live biomass of forests of National Nature Park «Prypiat-Stokhid». By sampling the database 3712 strata of forest plots covered with forest vegetation were selected. Field research data of 113 temporary sample plots served as source material for bioproductivity modelling. Determing of mathematical dependencies was conducted using method of multiple regression by means of packages of statistical programs. By evaluation of biotic productivity of forests of NNP «Prypiat-Stokhid» within each tree species, an analytical search of dependencies of coefficients RV (coefficient of ratio of fraction of stand live biomass (Mfr, t•ha-1) to growing stock of stemwood (М, m3•hа-1) of main live biomass components from mensuration indices of the researched stands was conducted. Using biomass expansion factors, a stand-wise evaluation of total amounts of carbon sequestered in live biomass of stands of NNP «Prypiat-Stokhid» was conducted. The research results contain information on the total amount of oxygen produced by forests of NNP «Prypiat-Stokhid» within groups of forest-forming tree species, land users, functional zones, nature protection scientific and research divisions and age groups. By-stratum method of oxygen production evaluation was used in calculations.
