Yanyshyna L. Formation of the English Neologisms in the 19th century (Case Study of Prosaic Literary Works)

This thesis is devoted to the study of the development of English lexical structure in the novels of XIX c. It deals with the analysis of external and internal factors that caused the dynamics of the language's lexical system. The research focuses on the ways and means in which English vocabulary has grown. The main types of innovations in the English language of the 19th century (borrowings, lexical neologisms) have also been characterized. The main sources of borrowings have been described. Peculiar features of semantic neologisms and productive word-formation types in the English language have been established.
