The thesis focuses on the integrated study of cognitive mechanisms, operations and procedures underlying the creation of occasionalisms in English postmodern literary text. In this paper, the author substantiates that occasional word-formation is a way of creating a new lexical unit by intentional deformation of normative cognitive structure.
