The Thesis analyses the problems and challenges related to information support of searches and enquiries in investigations of criminal offences. The author has studied the nature and meaning of such activities, determined the objectives, functions, options, ways of performance improving and areas of the use of specific records and automated information systems in criminal proceedings, and suggested the author's classification thereof. The study outlines the key directions of improvement of forensic and investigative techniques for certain types of criminal offences taking into account the potential of modern information systems.
