Essay

The internal fluid influence on piping vibrations is studied in this thesis. Solutions for straight pipe with Poisson and junction coupling are given. The orthogonality conditions of the mode shape for the fluid-structure interaction problem are derived. The method of calculating the frequencies and amplitudes of acoustic vibrations, induced by fluid moving in long pipelines with closed branches, was proposed. The results of study were used to mitigate the vibration level of secondary steam lines of Nuclear Power Plant.
