Essay

This Thesis is the first attempt of prerequisites holistic study of Bandura art origin, formation, and development within Ternopil areas since its formation and until modern operation. The historiographic basis of the paper include: documents and manuscripts, foundations of historical and regional studies museums of Galicia; Ukrainian and foreign periodicals and encyclopedicals; epistolary heritage, memoirs and diaries of Bandura-players, their friends and family members; musical instruments private collections; photos and film footage, audio and video presentations of Bandura-players, interviews with Bandura tradition bearers and personal observations of the author of Ternopil Region modern concert and festival practice.
