This dissertation is devoted to the comprehensive study of English language aphorism in pragma-stylistic and cognitive aspects with application of the conceptual-categorical concepts of linguosynergetics. The topic in aphoristic utterance has been revealed to tend to be formed by the information which had not been mentioned, but the author implies that the reader or listener possesses such knowledge. The phenomenon of fractality is widely objectified in the texts of this genre, which contributes to their stylistic expression and higher pragmatic potential.
