The thesis deals with legal regulation of public officers' working hours and rest hours. The author made analysis of theoretical and legal grounds aimed at regulating public officers' working hours and rest hours that made possible to define notion «work of public officers» as a subject of legal regulation within labor law, consider legal nature and define notion «public officers' working hours and rest hours», distinguish significant legal signs and peculiarities of mentioned categories which are stipulated by special character of labor function being carried out by the category of workers under consideration.
