Within national legal science about labor law this thesis is first complex legal research of the issues of forming and ensuring military discipline. The thesis contains retrospective analysis of historic process of buildup, formation and development of legislation on military discipline; four stages of this process are distinguished and characterized. While researching general grounds of formation of military discipline, the author considered military discipline as legal category, source for legal ensuring military discipline, comparing the notions «military discipline», «duty discipline» and «labor discipline».
