In the current work the important scientific and technical problem of creating a polymeric fire-protective intumescent coating with improved operational and ecological characteristics was solved by adding organomodified nanoclay particles into the coating. The influence of organically modified montmorillonite, obtained from bentonite clays of national deposites, on the mechanisms of chemical reactions, char layer formation, fire-protective, operational and ecological characteristics of fire-resistant intumescent coating based on polymer /ammonium polyphosphate/melamine/pentaerythritol was studied. It was determined that the positive influence of organically modified nanoclay lies in the participation of nanoclays in carbonization processes, in catalysis of ammonium polyphosphate destruction process in which polymeric structure is maintained, and in inhibiting of copolymer thermal destruction which leads to reducing the quantity of flammable thermolysis products. It was determined, by means of experimental studies, that montmorillonite, modified with guanidine and quaternary ammonium cations, as well as argentum cations, increases operational time and resistance to biodamages of the intumescent coatings. Receipt of fire-protective biocidal paint for wooden structures, that includes organically modified montmorillonite, was developed and successfully implemented.
