Essay

The thesis deals with the study of clinical-pathogenetic peculiarities of chronic cholecystitis in patients with hypothyroidism and improvement of the treatment of such patients by means of L-arginine use. A torpid course of chronic noncalculous cholecystitis, associated with higher lactate dehydrogenase and alkaline phosphatase activities, tumor necrosis factor-а concentration and lower interleukin-10 blood level, dyslipidemia, endothelial dysfunction manifestations, larger gallbladder sizes were typical for chronic noncalculous cholecystitis patients with hypothyroidism as compared to chronic noncalculous cholecystitis patients with normal functional activity of the thyroid gland. In addition to the basic treatment L-arginine administration promoted more rapid regression of clinical manifestations of gallbladder inflammation, cytolytic and cholestatic markers reduction, lipid and cytokine profiles optimization in the blood, and decreased endothelial dysfunction manifestations.
