Zhyvotivska D. Scientific and educational activities of physical and mathematical societies on the territory of Ukraine in the second half of 19 - at the beginning of 20 century: historiography

In the thesis on the basis of historiographical sources is revealed scientific and enlightening activities of physical and mathematical societiesin the territory of Ukraine in the second half of 19 - at the beginning of 20 century. The author proposed and theoretically grounded the periodization of accumulating of knowledge on declared theme, analyzed the input of domestic scientists in studying the formation of organizational and institutional grounds of development of physical and mathematical science. Analyzed, systematized and characterized the main groups of historiographical sources dedicated to studying and highlighting of historical place of physical and mathematical societies in the development of science of XIX century. Determined not enough elaborated directions of scientific work in mentioned branch, delineated circle of problems that need intensified research studies.
