Essay

Dissertation is devoted to discover the influence that selection pressure has played in a neuraminidase (NA) protein genetic diversity and to screen the genetic alteration which associated with reduce susceptibility to neuraminidase inhibitors in influenza viruses neuraminidase sequences, isolated in Ukraine in 2009-2015 outbreak seasons. First in Ukraine action of selection pressure on influenza viruses A(H1N1)pdm09, A(H3N2) and type B and on the mutation associated with resistance are set by the methods of bioinformatics. As result of screening the susceptibility of influenza viruses to neuraminidase inhibitors first in Ukraine were displayed appearance of resistance isolates to neuraminidase inhibitors. The present study highlights the importance of continued influenza antiviral susceptibility monitoring in clinical specimens to adequate use this remedy in time even if for some epidemic seasons all isolates are susceptible to neuraminidase inhibitors.
