Dubivka I. Pre-trial investigative activities of lawyer

The dissertation is the first comprehensive research of theoretical principles and practical problems of the lawyer's participation in pre-trial investigation with due consideration of the current legislative and law enforcement dynamics. The paper formulated and proved a number of new provisions and conclusions relevant to criminal procedure, investigative, judicial and legislative practice. Analysis of current research concerning lawyer's participation in pre-trial investigation and criminal procedural genesis and special legislation allowed to identify the most urgent problems of legal regulation issues within different historical periods. The concepts of the defense institute and representation in pre-trial investigation were outlined along with peculiarities of these advocacy categories. Amendments for relevant Criminal Procedure Code provisions are offered.
