Essay

Thesis deals with the peculiarities of clinic and treatment of combined lesions of marginal and apical periodontium, elaboration of the new combined medicinal form based on thiotriazoline and levomicetin and its clinical use with the purpose of pharmacological correction of abovementioned pathological conditions.Biochemical analysis of oral liquid and periodontal blood of patients with combined lesions showed that patients developed signs of oxidative stress, which is characterized by the significant raise of primary and secondary products of lipids peroxide oxidation, stable metabolites of NO and its enzymes against a background of the decrease protection of antioxidants. Results of microbiological investigations showed similar types of pathogenic microbiota in periodontal pockets and root canals. Deepening of the pathological process in periodontal tissues of patients with combined lesions leads not only to the increased frequency of identification of pathogenic bacteria but also to the growth of their number in periodontal pockets as well as in root canals. Obtained data proved the concept of periodontal-endodontic intercommunication. The proposed scheme of complex treatment of patients with combined lesions of marginal and apical periodontium including 2 % ointment with thiotriazoline and levomicetin contributes to the effectiveness of treatment, allows achievement of stable and positive results.
