Okhrimenko V. Onomatopoeic Lexis in Modern Korean language: Structural, Semantic and Functional Aspects.

The research provides theoretical and methodological principles of the study of onomatopoeic lexis in modern linguistics. The thesis develops and approves the methodological algorithm to analyze the structure, semantics and the functioning of Korean onomatopes as well as determines the specificity of prevalence for such kind of lexis presenting its profound classification. The dissertation ascertains the peculiarities of word-building potential of onomatopoeic lexis and essential derivational models of Korean onomatopoeia. The research analyzes the functional aspects of Korean onomatopes in texts and defines the tendencies that influence on the usage of onomatopoeic words and determines the reliance of their choice on semantic, pragmatic, social and linguistic factors.
