The dissertation focuses on the comprehensive study of prosodic parameters of the consent speech act in the English dialogical business discourse. Consent is defined in the present work as an interactional and pragmatic category. In compliance with pragmatic focus three kinds of speech acts of consent are distinguished in the English business-discourse: consent-react, consent-accept, consent-evidence, pragmatic and lexical-syntactic specifics of consent speech acts being described.
