Riznyk A. Prognosis and diagnostics of dysfunction of cardiac ventricles in the period of exacerbation of bronchial asthma in children

This thesis is devoted to the improvement of control over the development of dysfunction of cardiac ventricles and cardiac insufficiency in the period of exacerbation of bronchial asthma in children by means of defining risk factors of its development, criteria of diagnostics and optimization of therapy. There were defined prognostic clinical factors of the development of systolic-diastolic dysfunction of cardiac ventricles in case of a possible attack of bronchial asthma, the latter included: presence of a severe bronchial asthma; presence of tachycardia at rest; disorders of repolarization in the myocardium of ventricles on the electrocardiogram; presence of concomitant chronic tonsillitis in the bronchial asthma patient; bacteria carrying in the nasopharynx; female gender. There were developed informative diagnostic criteria of development of the right ventricular insufficiency in the period of bronchial asthma attack in children. It was established that usage of theophylline together with ?2-agonists in the bronchodilator therapy of children in the period of bronchial asthma exacerbation negatively impacts on diastolic function of cardiac ventricles and favors preservation of pulmonary hypertension.
