Essay

The results of an investigation of the Ruska-Polyana rare-metal granitoids of the Korsun-Novomyrgorod pluton of the Ukrainian Shield are presented. Petrographic, mineralogical, petrochemical and geochemical peculiarities of granitoids are considered. The content and distribution of rare and rare-earth elements in granites is determined. It is shown that different types of Ruska-Polyana granites have specific geochemical peculiarities. The Ruska-Polyana granites were compared with other rare-metal granites of the Ukrainian shield and the Salminsk rare-metal granites of the Baltic Shield. By geochemical specialization, the Russian-Poles granites are similar to the granites of the Kamyani Mogyly complex of the Ukrainian Shield. Ruska-Polyana granites belong to within-plate anorogenic granites of the A-type. It is established that the isotope composition of strontium of minerals of granites is characterized by high crustal and above crustal values. The age of granitoids of the Ruska-Polyana massif (1758 ± 3 Ma) is determined. It corresponds to the age of the formation of the Korsun-Novomirgorodsky complex. The chemical composition of rock-forming and accessory minerals of granitoids of the massif was studied. It was revealed that femic minerals of granitoids are high iron and enriched with chlorine.
