Conceptual and categorical apparatus regarding the interpretation of the concepts of "diversification" and "organizational and economic mechanism of activity diversification" have been developed. The methodological approach to the diagnosis of the existing level of diversification of the activities of specialized companies has been developed. The methodological approach to the formation of the organizational and economic mechanism of diversification of activity of the company has been elaborated; the composition of its main elements has been specified.
