Smoliana T. The Text of the German Language Maxim: Cognitive and Discursive Aspects

The object of the study is the German language maxim, the subject of the analysis being its language and speech characteristics as well as its regulatory potential along with their cognitive and communicative components. The purpose of the study is to determine the cognitive-discursive characteristics of the German maxim as language, speech and discursive entity. The methods used in the study are analysis of lexical definitions, component analysis, discourse-pragmatic, discursive and strategic method. The scientific novelty lies in the definition of the cognitive-discursive nature of the maxim and study of its regulatory potential. The theoretical significance is determined by contribution to the general theory of phraseology and paremiology, cognitive linguistics, theory of speech acts and communicative linguistics, discourse studies. The practical value of the work lies in the possibility to use the results in such courses as lexicology, stylistics of the modern German language, special courses of cultural linguistics, text linguistics, pragmatic linguistics, discourse studies, cognitive linguistics.
