Essay

The dissertation is devoted to increase of efficiency of early diagnostics, treatment, prognostication and prophylaxis of inflammatory complications in patients with non-gunshot fractures of the mandible. It has been established that the use of ultrasound in conjunction with other methods of radiation diagnostics (X-ray, computer and magnetic resonance imaging) allows to trace accurately the dynamics of reparative osteogenesis of the mandibular bone in all stages of its damage and to apply the necessary methods at all stages of treatment. The frequency of posttraumatic inflammatory complications (exacerbation of chronic periodontitis, suppuration of the bony wounds, posttraumatic osteomyelitis) was determined with different localization of the fracture gap and the contact area of the tooth in the fracture gap with the surrounding periodontium. Indications and contraindications for the preservation of teeth in the gap of the fracture have been established. The rate of recovery of saliva secretion (mixed or pure) has been recorded according to the length of the fixation in the mouth of the nasal tire. The changes in the number of functioning small salivary glands during the hospitalization of patients with mandibular fractures in the dynamics of treatment are traced. Particular attention is paid to determining the content of lysozyme in mixed saliva upon hospitalization of the patients and upon the dynamics of their treatment. A drug medication for correction of lysozyme level in saliva has been selected, which allowed to reduce the number of purulent-inflammatory complications.
