Essay

The dissertation is dedicated to development of slurry surfacing mixes for thin-layer road pavements with high cohesive strength build-up rate - by means of improving the raw materials' properties and targeted mix design. There was determined the influence of bitumens' technological origin, total surface activity of aggregates, type of mix, curing accelerators, as well as temperature mode - upon the cohesive strength build-up rate for slurry surfacing mix. There were substantiated and proposed the new methods for evaluation of the cohesive strength build-up rate for slurry surfacing mixes by means of the two new indicators: start of the cohesive strength build-up (lump formation) and express-indicator of mix formation.
