Mkhytarian A. Administrative and legal means of combating discrimination on the basis of disability in Ukraine

This research focuses on theoretical and legal analysis and practice of the use of administrative and legal means of combating discrimination on the basis of disability by state authorities and local self-government bodies, the characterization of anti-discrimination legislation in the system of normative legal provision of the rights and freedoms of persons with disabilities and the elucidation of the main directions of the borrowing of positive legal experience of certain foreign countries in the defined sphere taking into account the relevant international standards. The paper is considered the legal nature of discrimination on the basis of disability. Formulated the concept and characterize the types of administrative and legal means of counteracting discrimination against persons with disabilities. Revealed the authoritative powers of certain state human rights institutions in the field of combating discrimination on the basis of disability and analyzed the practice of application of administrative and legal means of combating discrimination in certain spheres of realization of the rights and freedoms of persons with disabilities.
