Objective: to substantiate and improve theoretical and methodological principles and to develop practical recommendations for the formation and functioning of local markets for agricultural products. Object: the process of formation and functioning of local markets for agricultural products. Methods of research: structural-functional and economical-statistical analysis; economic-mathematical modeling; linear programming. Theoretical results: the basis for further enrichment of theoretical and methodical principles and practical recommendations for the formation and functioning of local markets for agricultural products has been created. Practical results: scientifically substantiated recommendations for the formation and functioning of local markets of agricultural products have been developed. Scientific novelty: a methodical approach to assessing the dynamics and structure of agricultural products is developed, taking into account the criteria of stability and efficiency of marketing channels of distribution, which involves the division of products as necessary for its processing and is based on the calculation of the coefficients of variation of the specific gravity of the channel and the correlation between indicators of market conditions.
