Essay

The thesis is devoted to the study of the features of canopy photosynthetic apparatus and the patterns of development of the production process in crops of modern high-yielding wheat varieties in order to identify promising physiological indicators associated with grain productivity. It was established for the first time that under identical growth conditions the variation of chlorophyll index of leaves between the most contrasting varieties of winter wheat was higher than the chlorophyll content variation. It was found that varieties with a higher chlorophyll index at the of milk-wax ripeness stage had a greater yield. It was revealed the formation of high grain productivity of winter wheat resulted from better preservation of the functional activity of the photosynthetic apparatus in the reproductive period of development.
