Essay

The thesis is devoted to the study of the specifics of the temporal organization of chamber works of the French composer of the 20th century Francis Poulenc. The study singles out the main parameters of understanding the category of musical time in modern for F. Poulenc philosophical and aesthetic concepts (H. Bergson, M. Proust); proposes a periodization of the chamber music of F. Poulenc; analyzes the features of the temporary organization in the chamber works of F. Poulenc at the stylistic, compositional and “macro-compositional” levels; determines the principles of the temporary organization and the priority of its particular level for each of the periods of the composer’s oeuvre. The above observations broaden and deepen the ideas about the specific nature of F. Poulenc’s musical thinking, as well as allow to insert the composer’s work in the context of French culture in the first half of the twentieth century.
