Essay

The research of the dynamics of the development of Ukrainian composers' a cappella choral creative activity on the basis of the V. Stepurko's work in the synchronous context of contemporary choral music and in connection with the basic concepts of Ukrainian musical culture is caused by its vivid manifestations of the synthesis of ideas of various epochs, religions and confessions typical for the present period. In the thesis the analysis of those samples of a cappella choral music, which the most clearly represent the patterns of the composer's thinking in the aspect of understanding the figurative and semantic potential of the choir composition as an integral system is performed. The scientific novelty of the research lies in the systematization of defining concepts for V. Stepurko's creative activity on the basis of a comprehensive coverage of the ethical foundations of his work.
