Essay

A famous French composer-impressionist Claude Debussy follows mainly traditions of F. Couperin in interpretation of a suite genre creating works of different filling of dance and program features. Among all piano suite works of C. Debussy we can distinguish a "Suite Bergamasque", genre and intonation linking threads, which connect plays in one cycle, are characterized. Special attention in the work is paid to a suite "Children's corner" by C. Debussy, genre properties of every play of a piano suite are defined, program peculiarities of a whole piano cycle and its every number are analyzed. A piano suite "Images" by C. Debussy is considered, a row of common features between plays is determined (mono-theme, program features, leit-images, leit-intonations, leit-motives, harmony, texture and other) that allows to make a conclusion about doubtless cyclicity of a suite "Images".
