Object - the process of planning of foreign economic activity of the machine-building complex of the national economy. Goal - is the development of theoretical approaches and the development of methodological principles for improving the efficiency of the planning of the FEA of the machine-building complex of Ukraine in the context of realizing the tasks of ensuring its competitiveness on the world market.Methods - grouping, generalization and system analysis, comparative analysis, synthesis and graphical, functional analysis of economic-mathematical modeling.Novelty - improved: theoretical basis of planning of foreign economic activity of the machine-building complex; theoretical provisions of strategic planning of foreign economic activity of the machine-building complex; organizational approach to adaptive planning of foreign economic activity of the machine-building complex; process of planning of foreign economic activity of a strategic association in mechanical engineering; got further development: conceptual provisions of planning of the potential of foreign economic activity of a strategic association in mechanical engineering; an approach to planning the costs associated with the additional involvement of institutions to ensure the foreign economic activity of a strategic association in mechanical engineering.The results - the developed scientific positions and conclusions contribute to increase the efficiency of foreign economic activity of the machine-building complex in modern conditions of management.
