Moskalenko V. Forecasting of the regional development as a tool for managing the national economy

The thesis is devoted to the research of theoretical, methodological and practical problems of economic development forecasting at the regional level. Based on a systematic analysis of existing approaches to forecasting economic development, the author proposed new and adapted existing models to regional specifics. Endogenous variables for econometric models are based on both traditional statistics and business surveys, which are quite innovative in modern Ukrainian forecasting practice. The existing normative rules for economic forecasting is analyzed and ways of its improvement are offered. New approaches to strategic planning of economic development at the regional level are proposed, which include, in particular, road mapping and scenario forecasting.
