Essay

The dissertation presents a theoretical generalization and a new solution to a scientific problem, which consists in theoretical, methodological and practical substantiation of the principles of strategic management of the competitiveness of enterprises producing agro-food products to increase the efficiency of their functioning. The integral concept of construction and functioning of organizational and economic mechanism of increasing competitiveness of agricultural producers is grounded on the basis of their adaptation to the conditions of target markets of products on the basis of use of state support mechanisms, investment and innovation support and rationalization of financial and economic activity that provides rational resource use, increasing capitalization and restructuring, achieving high production-economic and c socio-environmental indicators of development. The methodical approach to the analysis of the competitiveness of the functioning of the agro-food industry enterprises is proposed, which allows to identify their efficiency, stability of development, strategic opportunities and prospects, to develop measures for early warning of threats; as well as a methodical approach to determining the competitive potential of agrarian enterprises on the basis of determining their degree of adaptability to changes in the competitive environment and the situation of target markets. The toolkit for evaluating the competitiveness of agro-food businesses is presented by defining integrated indicators of the efficiency of capital and labor utilization in relation to the profitability of the main activity. The given recommendations on determination of ways and provisions for increasing the competitiveness of enterprises on the basis of rational use of capital and labor resources of business entities, their image and business reputation.
