The dissertation presents the comprehensive study of prosodic characteristics of English Speech of the Slovaks. The thesis substantiates the theoretical principlesof investigating prosody of interfered speech, establishes its specifics as the resultof the interaction of language systems, defines the features of prosodic characteristics of the English and Slovak languages.The auditory analysis has enabled to state prosodic components, which differ inthe most typical features of intonation interference and include speech tempo variations, increasing number of phrasal stress in English Speech of the Slovaks.The acoustic analysis allowed to reveal the most typical mistakes in English Speech of the Slovaks, which include main tone frequency, speech tempo, pauses and rhythm
