The given thesis deals with the solution of scientific and applied problem, which consists in the development of analytical dependencies of calculating the duration of the waiting time for passengers of transit traffic in the city, for cases when the passenger does not know the exact time of arrival of the vehicle at the stopping point. The obtained analytical dependencies are the theoretical basis for conducting an estimation of the efficiency of the city route networks operation in general, and in particular, it allows quantifying the measures aimed at shortening the waiting phase during passenger travel. Analysis of existing methods for calculating and reducing the time spent by passengers on urban passenger transport showed that passengers' waiting time can be described as a result of the mutual influence of the laws of arrival of passengers to the stopping point and the fluctuations of the range of vehicular traffic, taking into account the capacity of vehicles with a high congestion of urban routes. Among the considered methods of reducing the waiting time for passen-gers of urban passenger transport vehicles, informing the passengers about the timetable of traffic turned out to be very important. In this case, the waiting time will exclusively depend on each user of the urban passenger transport and his individual attitude to the trip as a whole, which minimizes both the time costs themselves and the negative perception of these costs by the passenger. The transition to the new conditions of route transport operation in Ukrainian cities has caused the emergence of new forms of passenger service, which necessitates the development of analytical dependencies for forecasting the waiting time for passengers at the stopping points on the city route network, which takes into account the modern technologies for organizating the operation of vehicles.
