Essay

In the dissertation, the theoretical bases of the organization of transport processes and delivery systems in cities on the basis of regularities of formation of the behavior of end-consumers concerning a choice of supply channels and taking into account requirements to the sustainable development of modern cities are developed. It is proposed the concept of forming a sustainable system of delivery of goods in cities, which is based on determining the rational number of local depots considering the direct and social costs of this system and takes into account the behavioral aspects of the choice of supply channel by the end-consumers. Its implementation reduces the negative impact of the delivery system on the environment and introduces a sustainable component for this system. A methodology for determining the purchasing behavior of end-consumers has been developed, which is based on finding a trade-off between the economic and time attributes of alternative supply channels and allows assessing the probability of choosing a purchase channel by end-consumers. A model for estimating the latent demand of end-consumers for the use of transport services on the basis of crowd shipping has been developed, which based on the methodology of factor analysis and maximization of random utility allows to determine socio-demographic, economic, and time determinants of supply system choice. The application of the developed models allows revealing the level of influence of economic and time characteristics of alternative supply channels on their choice by consumers and, accordingly, to estimate the distribution of goods flow between shopping and delivery channels.
