X-rays of hip joints were studied in 168 children, which were divided into 2 groups: the main group - 97 (57.7 %) children with developmental hip dysplasia and the comparative one - 71 (42.3%) children in whom bone pathology was not detected. With the help of mathematical modeling, we developed the "OsteoGraf-child" program for the determination of bone mineral density of the spongy substance (MDSS) and the mineral density of the cortical layer (MDCL). The reference indexes of the femoral bone mineral density in children during the first 3 years of life were established: MDSS gradually increases from 0.15 to 0.23 g/cm3, MDCL - from 0.46 to 0.75 g/cm3; MDSS:MDCL ratio = 1:3. Was determined that MDSS in patient with DDH does not increase till 6 month; in 6-12 months it decrease to 0.09 ± 0.01 g/cm3 (on 35.7% of the indicator of a newborn); up to 3 years MDSS increase by 50,0%, but this value does not reach the age norm (p <0,05). The MDCL in each subgroup of the main group is significantly lower than MDCL in comparison group. The ratio of MDSS:MDCL = 1:2, what indicates the retardation of the femoral bone formation relative to age.
