Object: inflammatory diseases of the choroid and retina. Purpose: optimization the treatment of patients with inflammatory diseases of the choroid and retina using a complex therapy of cycloferon, decametoxine electrophoresis and microwave therapy. Methods: ophthalmologic, electrophysiologic, radiography, OCT, Mantoux reaction, immunological, statistical ; ophthalmoscope, biomicroscopy, tonometer. A method for predicting the possibility of development of macular degeneration in patients with chronic iridocyclitis has been developed. It is based on revealing the difference between the values of rheographic coefficient reflecting the blood flow velocity in the vessels of the patient and the paired eye and, if there is such, 63% or more predict the development of macular degeneration, the diagnosis of which is confirmed by the data of the fluorescein angiography. The method allows to diagnose the dystrophic process in the retina at an early stage and to prescribe the timely treatment. A method is proposed for treating inflammatory diseases of the anterior and posterior segments of the eye, which consists in the combined use of cycloferon, decametoxine electrophoresis and microwave therapy. The effecacity of treatment is confirmed by an increase in visual acuity on average by 2 times, expansion of visual fields, subsidence of signs of inflammation and a significant increase in the level of interferons alpha and gamma. The results were implemented in the Filatov Institute of Eye Diseases and Tissue Therapy of NAMS of Ukraine; Poltava Regional Clinical Hospital Sklifasovsky; Volyn Regional Children's Clinical Hospital; Transcarpathian Regional Clinical Hospital and the ophtalmology department of the Higher State Educational Institution of Ukraine "Ukrainian Medical Dental Academy".
