Genealogical studies of the Ukrainian gentry gradually become one of the priority directions of historical studies. Fot this research we choose one of the most numerous and most branched families of the Halych nobility - Berezovski from Bereziv. The dissertation consists of an introduction, four sections, conclusions, list of used sources and literature and appendices. The first section "Sources and historiography of the problem" describes the sources and clarifies the state of the scientific development of the topic. In the first subsection "Sources" there were analyzed the available sources of research. The second unit "Historiography of the Problem" is devoted to the works of historians who touched upon a number of problems concerning our study, both in the broad sense of the coverage of the general historical background and the study of the gentry in the territory of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, as well as directly of the Berezovski family, its history and genealogy. In the second section "Methodology and specificity of the genealogical researches of the Halych land gentry in the 15th - the 18th cent." the peculiarities of the work of the historian with the main type of sources for this study are revealed and in detail the main difficulties associated with their elaboration are considered. These difficultiues are conditionally divided into three groups. The first group is the difficulty in identifying a person or persons and interpreting the contents of court documents. The second is the difficulties connected with the peculiarities of the critical analysis of the content of documents, namely the errors in the old acts, the narratives, omissions, and the possibility of incorrect information in documents. The third group includes difficulties that are not directly related to the content of the documents of the grodzki or zemsky acts, but the source of which is the poor preservation of documents, the lack of a certain layer of documents, the disproportionate frequency of representations in the material of the various noble families or individuals; to a certain extent the problem may be the mobility of gentry, its frequent migration from family nests, which led to the dispersion of information on documents of different courts, etc. The third section "Characterization of the main types of legal and property interactions of the Halych land gentry in the 15th -18th cent. recorded in the documents of the Halych zemsky and grodzki courts." actually reveals the two opposing sides of the legal and property interactions of the gentry, which can be conventionally called "peaceful" and "conflict". The work deals in detail with the following types of property interactions such as giving, writing off or pledging their shares for a loan of money, assignment of rights to movable and immovable property, assignments to the daughters from father and mother, abandonment of daughters of parental estates in favor of brothers and sisters after receiving proper dowry, recordings of certain sums guaranteed on the estates, mutual records of property and certain amounts between husband and wife, mutual quit and abandonment between relatives, marriage agreements, wills. Concerning the conflict side of legal relations, which is represented in the acts of the grodzki and zemsky courts, we first of all characterized conflicts that stood between different noble families. In this section we discuss in detail several typical conflicts between the Berezovski families, which existed in the 18th century. Separately, the issue of enmity between Berezovski and local big landowners, magnates and Jews is highlighted. The issue of the participation of gentry, and particular Berezovskiy, in the opryshki movement was described The fourth section, "Genealogy of Berezovski" actually reveals the genealogy of the main most notable branches of this large and numerous noble family. We made an attempt to reconstruct the pedigree of Berezovski from the first written mention of the three brothers, Shandro, Vasko and Stanko in 1419 and until the end of the 18th century. Unfortunately, due to the fragmentation of the data, just for several branches can be built the genealogical line during these four centuries, actually more often we have to deal with a set of genealogies or their fragments. It is more or less possible to establish the descendants of Vasko and Shandro from Bereziv in the 15th - 16th centuries, while the line of the third brother Stanko, later divided in many branches of the Vyzhniy Bereziv, practically does not undergo genealogical reconstruction. Somewhat better situation is with the establishment of the origin of the branches of Berezovski observed in the 18th century. At this time it is possible to find common ancestors for different branches and the general picture of the growth of the family gets clearer contours.
