The thesis aims at studying main phonetic peculiarities and analyzing important phonetic changes under the influence of social and regional factors in the Welsh English speech. The paper presents overview of notions variant and dialect, describes complex linguistic situation in Wales, defines common for Celtic regions of Britain characteristic features, defines Welsh English status.Modern computer technology of instrumental phonetic investigation made it possible to demonstrate uniqueness and distinctiveness of Welsh English on prosodic and segmental levels.
