Essay

In the dissertation for the first time in the national research discourse a comprehensive philosophical and religious analysis of the concepts of church-social theoretical and practical dialogue developed in the Ukrainian confessional invariants of social doctrine, political theology and socio-political theology was proposed. On the basis of elaboration of a considerable amount of theological sources, it was reconstructed the main theoretical approaches to the study of contemporary Ukrainian theological concepts of dialogue between church and society; the stages of formation of the Christian doctrine on the partnership of church and society in the social doctrine of Catholicism are analyzed; the specificity of the Orthodox social doctrine on the relations of church, society and state is shown; the main features of socio-political ethics of Ukrainian Greek Catholicism are revealed; the stages of formation of the social ethics of Ukrainian Protestantism are analyzed; the main features of the Ukrainian liberation theology are determined; the features of social futurology in the Ukrainian theological thought are revealed; analyzed theories of Ukrainian Protestant and Orthodox political theology on relations of church and society; The transformational potential of Christian socio-political ethics in the reflections of Ukrainian theologians is determined. According to Ukrainian theologians, the social activity of churches and paratroopers should be determined not by the circumstances of the present and the past, but by the ideals of the future and determination to embody the ideal in reality. At the same time, the church should become a community that represents an eschatological future, namely - the special interpersonal relations of people as completely possible today. The Church as an alternative sociality forms and represents a renewed ethical ideal that prompts secular society to transform, the power in it - to resistance, political discourse to the reappraisal of modern and postmodern values. Modern Ukrainian Orthodox political theology approves the relativization of social structures, the decline of hierarchy and corporate identity, the growth of personal and intersubjective significance. The Church and the renewed social life are thought to be a community of interpersonal communication that is effective in postmodern conditions. Ukrainian Protestant theology emphasizes the ideal of a new reformation, the necessity of which is caused by a complex of postmodern problems. On the other hand, Orthodox political theology concentrates on the top priority of the renovation of the church, which must not only meet the conditions of the 21st century, but also the biblical ideal of the community of love as maximally solidary free personal relationships. It is proved that in the Ukrainian socio-ethical discourse the influence of social doctrine diminishes and the importance of political theology grows. These transformations are associated with the transition of churches from deontology to ethics of virtues. At the same time, the characteristic feature of modern Ukrainian theology was the focus on the legitimization of the ideals of modern liberalism and postmodern solidarity, democracy and self-development, with the opposition of totalitarianism and relativism.
