Essay

The dissertation is devoted to the study of the contribution of Richard Swinburne to substantiation of the theistic worldview. The work contains an excursion into the tradition of natural theology, which has a long history, revived with renewed vigor and became the subject of research in the analytic philosophy of religion in the second half of the 20th century. The study of the history of natural theology reveals the prerequisites for Swinburne's pure and ramified theism, and the study of the analytic philosophy of religion in the second half of the 20th century highlights its context. The focus of the study is on Swinburne's pure and ramified theism, including epistemology, the concept of God, arguments for the existence of God, arguments against the existence of God, and a philosophical analysis of the main Christian doctrines: the Trinity and the Incarnation. In the work it is shown that the philosophical theology of Swinburne has not only historical value, its research allows to see the apologetic potential of the works of the philosopher for substantiating theism and the basic beliefs of the Christian worldview.
