Essay

The object of research are regular and random processes in the lower ionosphere, caused by terrestrial and cosmic influences. The aim of the work is to improve and automate the methods for estimating the parameters of the lower ionosphere on the basis of the analysis of tweek-atmospherics.Research methods are based on measurements of electric and two magnetic components of the electromagnetic field in the ELF–VLF ranges, structural programming, clustering methods.To carry out measurements of atmospherics, to accumulate data for the purpose of further analysis, a hardware-software system was created.A new one-position method for determining the distance to lightning and the altitude profile of the lower ionosphere is proposed and tested on the basis of numerical simulation.The connection between the lower effective height of the ionosphere to the magnitude of the solar zenith angle at night.Application area: applied radiophysics, radiolocation.
