The dissertation is devoted to the study of legal principles of protection of land that has been polluted by hazardous substances in Ukraine. The concept of the land that has been polluted by hazardous substances is considered, and its legal features are being defined. The principles of the legal protection of land which has been polluted by hazardous substances are characterized. The classification of sources of pollution was satisfied, the grounds and onditions of legal protection of land that has been polluted by hazardous substances had been investigated. The peculiarities of legal responsibility for violation of the requirements of the legislation in the specified sphere are being determined. A comparative legal analysis of the European and International legislation, as well as countries of the post-Soviet area, in the field of legal protection of land that has been polluted by hazardous substances were fulfilled.
